Mentor

What is a mentor? The dictionary defines a mentor as "an adviser, a person in a company, college, or school who trains and counsels new employees or students, to advise or train someone. What does it take to be a mentor? Why do people these days not seek out mentors? Imagine how much better business could be run at all levels or families could be raised if there were reliable mentors to keep society moving alone. I want a mentor to influence my spiritual walk and my professional life. I will look to see if there are mentoring organizations.

Sometimes

Sometimes I wonder about God. I know he is the savior of mankind. But... is he always looking out for me and my family. I cry out to know him better and feel buffered from contact with the Lord God Almighty. I know that I am blessed and I know that if I hold on for the long haul things will get better, but I want a quick answer where God says "Dan, here is my plan for you . . . " and "These are the things you should work on to grow closer to me . . . " Is this to much to ask of God. Just give me a mentor and tell me that it is all going to be ok. Maybe this means that I am he with little faith. I feel that I have faith but would like some Godly direction in my life to back up this faith.
